How to Change Flight Date for Free?

Delta airlines helps you to change the flight as per your change of plan. However, it depends upon the dependability of the available flights for your preferred destination. They have the provision for change fees for the flight reservations that originate from the United States, Canada, and Caribbean to any destination of the world. Which is not applicable for the Basic Economy tickets. In general if you have some value then it will work as an eCredit that one may use at any time before the ticket expires like its lasts for one year from the date of your ticket purchase.

What Is the Process to Change the Date of Your Flight?

One can very simply change the date, location or time of the trip by going to the My Trips section of the airlines. However the new flight may be more costlier than the original one. You will be in charge of the price difference if this happens. And if changes do not happen before the departure then there will be no refund or exchange of tickets. Know that the Basic Economy reservations are typically not refundable or even changeable.

All tickets, including Main Cabin and premium rates, will be subject to change and cancellation penalties in some regions. And in case if you already have an eCredit and are ready to book then do visit the delta.com/redeem for booking your new flight. Rebook with eCredit

According to the Delta Airlines Change Flight, the passenger can easily locate their eCredit by checking in and visiting their Profile but remember to have a SkyMiles account linked to your reservation at the time of your flight cancellation. Use the procedures below if you don't have a SkyMiles Profile and need help redeeming your eCredit(s).

Firstly, one can get their eCredit just by using the credit card as by which one has bought the ticket, through the SkyMiles account number or say with the ticket digits which is a 13-digit number that starts with 006 for the initial reservation process.
Search for 'Your Flight Receipt' in your email inbox and find the correspondence related to the trip you previously canceled to find your ticket number.

Secondly, use the airline generated ticket number, credit card, or SkyMiles account for which you can search for your eCredit on the official website of the airlines. Then select from the listed dropdowns and learn the ways like how you would like to see through the eCredit and then enter the required information in the required fields. Press the 'Look Up' button to start your lookup. After locating your eCredit, click 'Add' after inputting the original ticket holder's first and last names to start the validation process.

Thirdly, after one chooses their eCredit the page will be uploaded. To rebook travel using an eCredit, check the box next to it.

Note: Choose your companion certificate first, then use your eCredit at checkout if you would like to apply it to a companion certificate.

Fourthly, continue to look for the flight search. After choosing your eCredit, go to the bottom of the page and select 'Continue.' The process of booking a new flight will begin when you are directed to a page that allows you to search for flights. The amount will be deducted from your eCredit.
Confirm the payment, as you can make one last check of your selections and submit your payment details on the Review and Pay page. On the right side, you will once more see the pricing computation that takes into account your eCredit application. This provides you with an accurate estimate of the cost after your purchase is completed. Remember that occasionally the cost of your new flight can exceed your eCredit. Should this occur, the price difference would have to be paid in order to modify your ticket.

Review your ticket confirmation as the Confirmation page will display a summary of your transaction after it has been completed. The second column, after 'Amount Charged,' will show your eCredit.
